About Me: A Journey of Enthusiasm and Personal Development

Introduction:

My name is Dr. Ginny-Marie Bradley, and I am thrilled to share my story with you. I believe that everyone has a unique journey to share, and I am excited to tell you about mine and I am keen to help you and your horse work in harmony. I am passionate about helping others and to promote comfort and unity between horse and rider.

Early Life and Education:

I was born and raised in Cheadle, Staffordshire, and obtained my MSc at Keele University and PhD at the University of Manchester. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for horses and I wanted to know more about how bits and bridles worked. During this time me and my parents set up Millstream Saddlery after Karen, my mother was made redundant and Tony, my father, finished his job to concentrate on our business.

In 2012, I got my own horse, Cinderella. She was amazing, we bonded instantly and she was everything to me. She taught me how to ride, how to fall off and how to enjoy the feeling of being free when you're in the saddle with just the road infront of you. We had many bitting issues, she being a Grade A showjumper and me being a complete novice rider we tried every bit known to man. She had a lovely jump but upon landing would lean down, twist her head, bite hold of the bit and gallop off. This was never a good thing in a showjumping arena with lots of fences I can tell you! She taught me so much about bitting, bridles and how the horses head works. It was during this time I gained a passion for knowledge and wanted to persue this further.

Professional Journey:

After graduating, We, my parents and I, continued to develop our business selling secondhand horse and rider equipment with a main focus on bits and bridles. In 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic we rapidly diversified with the help of suppliers to become a saddlery that stocked new ranges, specialising in clearance and end of line stock.

In 2021, we opened our shop at Beaver Hall Equestrian Centre, Staffordshire where we stock new items from top named brands and clearance items. We do still continue to help people who come into the shop with bitting issues and we stock a wide range of secondhand and new bits.

This was when I realised I wanted to help horse and rider further by becoming a LANTRA - Qualified Bit and Bridle Fitter. I started my own consultancy and it has been a thrilling and rewarding experience so far. I have learned so much about myself and what I am capable of, and I am constantly wanting to push myself to grow and improve the quality of the relationship between horse and rider.

Personal Growth:

Alongside my professional journey, I have also been on a journey of personal growth. I have faced many challenges and obstacles, but each one has taught me something valuable about myself and the world around me.

I have learned to be resilient in the face of adversity, to embrace failure as a learning opportunity, and to be compassionate and kind to myself and others.

Conclusion:

My journey is far from over, and I am excited to see where it will take me next. But through it all, I have learned that the most important thing is to stay true to yourself and your passions. I am looking forward to meeting people and their horses and hope that I can bring something to them to help with their relationship and to persue their own goals, push their boundaries and enjoy their time together as one whole.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I hope it has inspired you in some way.
